About school

Anand Niketan is an 'Alternative School' started in 1998 in Nashik, Maharashtra, run by Avishkar Shikshan Sanstha. It is a Marathi medium school running without Government aid or support of any funding agency.

Now there are 500 students from Preprimary to X and 40 devoted teachers are working in school.

Anand Niketan was started by a group of sensitive, motivated and socially committed professionals from Nashik, who were dissatisfied with the current system of education which was bookish, burdensome and exam oriented. Inspired by Educationists, Philosophers and Alternative Schools in Maharashtra; the group decided to start a school to impart education which is creative, child-centric and socially relevant, which in turn make children responsible and responsive citizens and give something back to the society.

We believe that education is the most important tool for social transformation. No education based on religion is imparted in school. All the festivals celebrated in school always have a cultural approach without any religious angle to it.
